Permeable and SuDS-compliant
Rain soaks straight through into an open sub-base, so a permeable resin drive usually needs no planning permission out front.
How resin bound stays SuDS-compliant →Permeable, hand-trowelled and SuDS-compliant surfacing for driveways, patios, paths and commercial spaces, hard-wearing and laid nationwide. Part of the Soft Surfaces Group, resin specialists since 1997.
Washed, kiln-dried stone is mixed with a clear, UV-stable resin and hand-trowelled over an open, permeable base, so it cures as one smooth, porous surface that rain drains straight through.
Often called resin bound gravel, it gives a joint-free driveway, patio or path with no loose stone to kick about, no gaps for weeds, and a colour that holds for years. Because the surface is porous, it drains in place and stays SuDS-compliant.
A resin bound surface is made of three materials: washed, kiln-dried aggregate, a clear UV-stable resin that binds it, and a free-draining base beneath. The resin locks the stone into one joint-free piece; the base lets water soak through.
Washed, kiln-dried stone in dozens of blends. The colour is in the stone itself, not a dye, so it holds for years.
Colours and blends →A clear, UV-stable resin binds every stone into one piece, locking the aggregate down as a single joint-free surface.
Bound vs bonded →An open, free-draining sub-base beneath lets rain soak straight through, so the whole build-up drains in place.
How it drains →One team, one standard. Smooth, porous and hard-wearing, on homes and commercial sites alike.
A smooth, puddle-free finish that lifts the whole front of the house, with no gaps for weeds.
See driveway work →Smooth and slip-resistant, kind to prams, bins and wheelchairs, and it drains where it falls.
See path work →Durable, compliant surfaces for schools, care homes and forecourts, laid to spec and to standard.

A resin bound surface is permeable and SuDS-compliant, hand-trowelled into one joint-free piece, and built to last with a written guarantee. Here is what each means, and where to read the detail that matters to your project.
Rain soaks straight through into an open sub-base, so a permeable resin drive usually needs no planning permission out front.
How resin bound stays SuDS-compliant →Washed aggregate and UV-stable resin are mixed on site and trowelled by hand over a compacted permeable base, so the finish runs smooth end to end.
How a resin bound surface is laid →A resin bound surface lasts around 15 to 25 years and comes with a written guarantee from the Soft Surfaces Group.

Compare resin bound and resin bonded →The same crew and the same standard, CHAS and ConstructionLine accredited, laying resin bound surfacing across the UK.
Where we install resin driveways →The figure moves with the size of the area, what is under the old surface and the aggregate you pick. The cost guide breaks down what the price includes and what to budget.
Indicative only. Your real figure comes after a free site survey, once we have seen what is under the old surface.
Resin bound surfaces come in dozens of aggregate blends, from warm golden gravels through cool silvers to deep charcoals, because the colour is the natural stone itself, not a dye. Pick a look you like and we bring real samples to your survey.
